At what age did you start acting?
BR: Actually I started out as a dancer in Los Angeles, dancing at my Aunt and Uncle’s studio Retter’s Academy of Dance. What most people don’t realize is that dancing is a lot like acting. When you dance many times you are telling a story with your movements. After moving to NYC I realized that singing, dancing and acting all go together and that’s when I fell in love with musical theatre.
What’s your favorite sport/activity to do?
BR: I’m not actually that into sports but if I was I would pick Beach Volleyball because I love being outside in the sun especially at the beach and after watching a lot of Beach volleyball during the Rio Summer Olympics. I fell in love with the game. What I really like to do is read books! I love literature especially Adventure stories when you actually feel like you’re actually in the character’s shoes.
If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
BR: Though it would be cool to live somewhere like Paris or Tokyo, I love my life in New York City and feel like this is where I belong. New York is the greatest city on earth, this is where my career started and this is where I want it to grow into something bigger than I ever imagined.
If you were stranded on an island what three things would you bring?
BR: I would bring my cat, my tap shoes and a bag full of my favorite snacks, (Pringles, Doritos and Marshmallows).
What’s your favorite t.v show show to watch?
BR: My favorite TV show is Once Upon A Time on ABC . This show uses so many of my favorite fairytales and spins them in a way that brings them back to life for my age group and adults too. My sister Liza, my mom Becca Retter and I love this show and always watch it together, sometimes more than once. I would say Once is my favorite but there are two more I like because I get to watch aspiring performers get the chance of a lifetime to make it big on live television in front of a world wide audience.
What’s your favorite broadway show to see?
BR: Because I live in NYC and my family is very involved in theatre, I get to see a lot of Broadway Shows! I have loved everyone of them! Right now I am in love the Waitress and can’t wait to see again now that Sara Bareilles is in the show!
What’s your favorite project that you’ve done?
BR: Right now I am in rehearsals for 13 The Musical and I am having the time of my life! Our director is Sean Partick and he is a great director and my Daddy is the choreographer. We are performing in the Off-Broadway theatre The Actors Temple and it is just about a block away from Hamilton. Pretty cool Huh?
